Steps, Kim Wilde and Sylvie Vartan

New CD's in my record collection: First out, "What The Future Holds" (2020) by Steps. I love this album. It's one of the albums of the year for me. We need more poptastic music in this world.



Remastered reissues of "Des Heures De Désir" (1984), "Made In USA" (1985) and "Virage" (1986) by French singer Sylvie Vartan. I first discovered her music after hearing her version of a track by my idol Agnetha Fältskog. Great synth driven pop music!



And finally "Wilde Winter Songbook" (Deluxe Edition) (2020) by the amazing Kim Wilde. Lovely Christmas album including duets with Nik Kershaw, Rick Astley, Hal Fowler and Marty Wilde.

Eurotix - The Best Of Times 2013-2020

I'm so happy to announce the release of "The Best Of Times 2013-2020" by my synthpop project Eurotix. It includes all our singles and fan favourites, plus "Try Again" remixes and the brand new song "Synchronize". All remastered especially for this collection.

New amazing albums in my record collection: First out is the amazing debut album "Heaven & Hell" (2020) by Ava Max. Not one bad song on it:



I love the eighties retro sound on Erasure's new album "The Neon" (2020). This is another contender for album of the year 2020:



I am a huge Spice Girls fan and I really like Melanie C's voice. But "Melanie C" (2020) is the first of her solo albums that I really love. Great electronic dance-pop music that fits so well with her voice:



Last but not least: "Sound Of A Woman" (2014) and "Crave" (2020) by Kiesza. The latter is a sure contender for album of the year 2020. So good!

(1993) by Australian pop starlet Melissa Tkautz, "Right Rhythm" (1990) and "Friends' Advice (Don't Take It)" (1990) by The Pointer Sisters (including Shep Pettibone remixes), the 3" CD single "A Zillion Kisses" (1989) by Tommy Page (including amazing PWL remixes) and a 1991 promo CD from Crush Records (including rare songs by Small Talk, Paul Rein, Girls! and Tina).



Then some rare CD's Swedish artists: "Number One" (1988) by Carmen Kane and "Stillbilder" (1987) and "Hög Puls" (1989) by Milla's Mirakel!

Steps - What The Future Holds (New album, single, video)

The amazing pop group Steps is back with the brand new single "What The Future Holds", taken from the upcoming album of the same name. It's so good! I'm glad they keep doing melodic dance-pop music, just what the fans love. The album will even include a cover of one of my personal favourites: "Something In Your Eyes" by Jenny Silver.

Verka Serduchka - Disco Kicks (New italo disco)

As you know, I'm a huge fan of italo disco music from the eighties. I also like the hilarious drag queen Verka Serduchka from Ukraine, best known for her Eurovision song "Dancing Lasha Tumbai". Now, she has released a wonderful song called "Disco Kicks". The sound is pure retro italo disco and the lyrics are as funny as ever. Also, you can clearly hear the nods to italo disco acts Scotch and Fancy. I love this!

It's taken from Verka's brand new EP "Sexy", out now on iTunes, Spotify and more. Get it now, eighties nerds!

Lady Gaga, Carly Rae Jepsen and Jessie Ware 2020

2020 has been a bad year for the world, but at least it has given some great albums. Here are some of the recent additions to my record collection.

First out: I'm so glad Lady Gaga is back doing electronic dance-pop instead of that boring acoustic/country stuff. "Chromatica" (2020) is yet another contender for album of the year 2020.



I'm a huge Carly Rae Jepsen fan and I recently got her new album "Dedication Side B" (2020). She sure knows how to make amazing B-sides, that's for sure.



I never got into Jessie Ware's previous albums, but "What's You Pleasure?" (2020) is amazing. It's inspired by the real disco music of the 70's and early 80's. Brilliant album from start to finish!

Kylie Minogue - Say Something (Official Video)

It's been a difficult year for all of us, due to the Corona virus pandemic. Luckily, music can help us feel a little better, so I was thrilled when my idol Kylie Minogue released her brand new single "Say Something", the first from her upcoming disco album "Disco". Today, the video for the song finally premiered and took the song to a higher level. I love it. It's giving me "Xanadu" vibes. Check it out below.

"Say Something" is out now on iTunes, Spotify and more. Don't forget to pre-order the "Disco" album from Kylie's official website. It's released on November 6. I am so excited about this one. Eurotix - We Could Have Been (New Version) (EP)

Don't miss mine and Larry Forsberg's synthpop project Eurotix's new EP including "We Could Have Been (New Version)", a brand new italo disco version of the fan favourite track, with stronger re-recorded vocals to match the new tempo of the track. Classic italo disco meets Stock Aitken Waterman in this anthem.

The EP also includes three bonus tracks: a new remix of the popular 2015 album track "The Innocent Years", the robotic track "This Is Not A Hostile Takeover" and finally a cover version of "Let's Go To Bed" by The Cure.

Eurotix - I Forget Myself

Don't miss mine and Larry Forsberg's synthpop project Eurotix's latest EP including "I Forget Myself", the song that was originally recorded as a demo for Melodifestivalen (Swedish pre-selection to the Eurovision Song Contest) by my old alter-ego Bimbo Boy. We decided to re-record it, with new vocals and a more Eurotix-ish sound.

The EP also includes three brand new tracks: the Alphaville inspired "A Memory", "My Shining One" and a Hi-NRG remix of the fan favourite "Will You Remember Me?".

Hollywood - Netflix period drama about old Hollywood

It's been quite some time since I recommended a TV series on my blog. I usually post things like this on my Facebook and Twitter pages, but this show is too special, so here we go: Today, Netflix is premiering the brand new series "Hollywood" and it's just what I love: a behind-the-scenes drama of old Hollywood.

"Hollywood" is created by Ryan Murphy and Ian Brennan and stars David Corenswet, Darren Criss, Laura Harrier, Joe Mantello, Dylan McDermott, Jake Picking, Jeremy Pope, Holland Taylor, Samara Weaving, Jim Parsons and Patti LuPone.

New CD's in my record collection: The new two disc remastered reissue of "Heart First" (1984) by Hazell Dean, including a signed postcard. And the two disc Japanese "Complete Edition" of Dua Lipa's debut album, including the fabulous Initial Talk remixes.



I also bought the lovely remastered and expanded deluxe edition of the 1991 Erasure album "Chorus". It sounds amazing.

Kim Wilde - Kim Wilde/Select/Catch As Catch Can (Reissues)

I am so happy about the brand new deluxe editions of my big idol Kim Wilde's first three albums "Kim Wilde", "Select" and "Catch As Catch Can". The remastering is so much better than the previous reissues and it's a joy listening to the albums and discovering sounds you didn't hear before. And of course it's great to get all the videos on a DVD, plus all the CD bonus tracks such as B-sides, remixes and previously unreleased outtakes.

This is a must for every Kim Wilde fan. I wish all of her eighties and nineties albums would get the same treatment. Kim is truly amazing! You can buy these editions on Amazon or straight from the Cherry Pop label. They are also available digitally on iTunes, Spotify and so on.

Don't miss out on these masterpieces! There are also vinyl reissues available for those who are still into that.

Ultimate Dollar and Change CD box sets

New additions in my record collection: First off, the amazing CD box set "Ultimate Dollar" by eighties pop duo Dollar (Thereza Bazar and David Van Day). Includes all their albums and maxi-singles digitally remastered, including PWL remixes and other previously unreleased stuff. Highly recommended!



I also got the new box set by Italian-American disco and R&B band Change (Jocelyn Brown, Luther Vandross, Deborah Cooper and many more over the years) called "Everything And More (Complete Recordings 1980-2019)". It includes all of their studio albums remastered and featuring rare bonus remixes. Another gem that I strongly recommend for all disco-funk-R&B lovers!
