"I long to feel that Christmas spirit in my heart"

I just had to share a picture of some of my Christmas gifts. They include Agatha Christie's classic novel "Murder On The Orient Express" and these CD's: "Christmas Spirit" and the remastered reissue of "Cats Without Claws" by Donna Summer, plus "Remixes And Rarities" by Bucks Fizz. My friend Mark also made me a T-shirt and calendar with my big idol Agnetha Fältskog. I love them!

Merry Christmas, everyone!

Christmas gift from Madonna

Demo versions of songs from Madonna's upcoming album "Rebel Heart" was recently leaked online, to the pop star's disappointment. This has led to a rushed release of official versions of the tracks: "Bitch I'm Madonna", "Devil Pray", "Ghosttown", "Illuminati", "Living For Love" and "Unapologetic Bitch".

After the first listen, my favourites are "Living For Love" and "Ghosttown". "Bitch I'm Madonna" is cool too, but I could've done without Nicki Minaj. However, I'm very curious about the full album, due for release in March 2015.

You can pre-order "Rebel Heart" now from iTunes and get instant downloads of the six tracks. The tracks are also available on Spotify.

Eurotix - He'll Be Home For Christmas (Free MP3)

Mine and Larry's synthpop project Eurotix recently released the EP "Are You Strong Enough?". To say thanks for all your support, we're giving away a free MP3 download of our brand new Christmas song "He'll Be Home For Christmas". You can download it from our Soundcloud page.

The song is a bit different from our usual style, but hey, it's Christmas! Personally, I'm very happy about the gay themed lyrics. Feel free to share the song with your friends. Special thanks to Jimmy Dyrebrant who designed the artwork and to Stefan Gemzell who made the animated video.

Merry Christmas!

Trailer: San Andreas (2015)

Ever since I first saw the classics "The Towering Inferno" and "S.O.S. Titanic" as a kid, I've loved disaster movies. Check out the brand new trailer for the upcoming movie "San Andreas", where a massive earthquake hits California. The movie comes out in May 2015. The best thing is that my big idol Kylie Minogue has a small part in it.

Trailer: Jurassic World (2015)

I was nine when I first saw "Jurassic Park" at the cinema in 1993, together with my parents. It's been one of my all-time favourites ever since and it's one of few that I can watch over and over, without getting bored with it.

This summer, the fourth movie in the series is coming out. "Jurassic World" stars the hunky Chris Pratt and you can check out the trailer down below. I just can't wait!

Video: Giorgio Moroder - 74 Is The New 24

I'm a big fan of music producer Giorgio Moroder, the man behind masterpieces like Donna Summer's "I Feel Love", Limahl's "The Neverending Story", Irene Cara's "Flashdance... What A Feeling" and Blondie's "Call Me". Giorgio just released a brand new solo single called "74 Is The New 24". Check out the video down below. I love the electronic sound!

This spring, Giorgio will release his first album in thirty years, including collaborations with my idols Kylie Minogue and Britney Spears. I just can't wait! "74 Is The New 24" is out now on iTunes, Spotify, Amazon and Beatport.

Video: Cheryl Cole - I Don't Care

Cheryl Cole is know for being one of the members of British girl group Girls Aloud and for her solo single "Fight For This Love". Now, she's back with the brand new single "I Don't Care". Check out the video down below. Cheryl might not be the strongest singer in the world, but she delivers fabulous plastic pop. "I Don't Care" is right up my alley!

"I Don't Care" is out now on iTunes, Spotify and Amazon.

Velvet - Enemy

Swedish pop singer Velvet (Jenny Pettersson) is known for singles such as "The Queen", "Take My Body Close", "Fix It" and "Chemistry". Now, she's finally back with the brand new single "Enemy", a fabulous house track, written and produced by Front Of House.

"Enemy" is out now on iTunes, Spotify and Amazon UK.

Leighton Meester - Heartstrings

I became a Leighton Meester fan when she played the bitchy Blair Waldorf on teen drama "Gossip Girl", one of my favourite shows. Leighton just released her new single and you can check out the video down below.

"Heartstrings" is a sweet and relaxing pop track, even though it's not as strong as her earlier dance-pop singles "Your Love's A Drug" and "Somebody To Love". But it's not a bad song, far from it. I'm just sad she's left the electronic sound behind.

The song is available on Leighton's debut album, also called "Heartstrong". It's out now on iTunes, Amazon UK and Amazon US.

Video: Erasure - Dead Of Night

One of my favourite tracks on Erasure's new album "The Violet Flame" is the opening track "Dead Of Night". A perfect match for a synthpop/classic movie lover like me!

Eurotix - Superstar

Listen to "Superstar", the opening track on Eurotix debut album "The Secret". We first recorded it a few years back, as a demo sent to Melodifestivalen, the Swedish pre-selection to the Eurovision Song Contest. However, it remained unreleased until Larry and I decided to rerecord it for the album.

Not only have the vocals been rerecorded, but the production has been given a full makeover. The final version is less "schlager" and more synthpop, more Eurotix. I'm also fond of the lyrics which are both cocky and tragic at the same time.

"Superstar" is available digitally on iTunes, Spotify, Amazon UK, Amazon US and on a limited CD edition. Enjoy!

Video: Taylor Dayne - Dreaming

Eighties icon Taylor Dayne is back with the brand new single "Dreaming". And while it's no "Tell It To My Heart", I'm really glad Taylor is doing clubby dance-pop music again! I hope this is the start of a new successful era for her. What a voice!

Check out the video down below. The track is out now on iTunes, Spotify, Amazon UK and Amazon US.

Trailer: The Evil Within

Check out the trailer for "The Evil Witin", the new horror video game developed by Shinji Mikami, creator of the "Resident Evil" series. It's not for the faint hearted though, but I love horror movies, so I'll definitely getting this one. Not sure if I will be able to go to sleep after playing it though.

"The Evil Within" is out now for the PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One. Order your copy from Amazon UK or Amazon US.

"While investigating the scene of a gruesome mass murder, Detective Sebastian Castellanos and his partners encounter a mysterious and powerful force. After seeing the slaughter of fellow officers, Sebastian is ambushed and knocked unconscious. When he awakens, he finds himself in a deranged world where hideous creatures wander among the dead. Facing unimaginable terror, and fighting for survival, Sebastian embarks on a frightening journey to unravel what's behind this evil force."

#SaveDallas - Help the Ewings find a new home

As you probably know by now, TNT cancelled the new "Dallas" spinoff after three seasons. I wasn't surprised when I heard the news, the show had been struggling in the ratings and we all know that networks are more interested in cheap reality shows rather than good prime time dramas.

However, I personally love the spinoff and I hope it will get another chance. The team is trying their best to find a new home for the show on another network and they need our help. So please keep using the hashtag #SaveDallas in social medias, and don't forget to sign the online petition. Together, we can make a difference.

If we don't get a fourth season, I hope that they'll at least make a TV movie to wrap up the loose ends. No show should have to end on a cliffhanger. Especially not a show as iconic as "Dallas".

Trailer: The Woman In Black 2: Angel Of Death

One of the best horror movies to come out the past couple of years is Hammer Film's "The Woman In Black" from 2012, starring Daniel Radcliffe. The movie is finally getting a sequel called "The Woman In Black: Angel Of Death" and you can check out the creepy trailer down below.

The movie takes place forty years after the first movie and follows a group of school children and their teacher Eve as they are evacuated from London during World War II, ending up at the haunted Eel Marsh House.

The movie premieres in 2015 and stars Phoebe Fox, Helen McCrory, Ned Dennehy and hunky Jeremy Irvine. Meanwhile, check out the first movie, which is available on Blu-ray and DVD.

Eurotix - Don't Let Go

Listen to my band's track "Don't Let Go" down below. I wrote the lyrics myself. It was sent to Melodifestivalen, the Swedish pre-selection to the Eurovision Song Contest, but didn't go all the way, so it was released on our album instead. The track also includes a nod to a certain New Order track. Can you hear which one?

"Don't Let Go" is taken from our Eurotix album "The Secret", available digitally on iTunes, Spotify, Amazon UK, Amazon US and as a limited CD edition. Enjoy!

My favourites: Samantha Fox - I Surrender (To The Spirit Of The Night) (1987)

It's time for another one of my all-time favourite songs. I became a Samantha Fox fan in the summer of 2000, when I first discovered and fell in love with eighties pop music. Her biggest hit "Touch Me (I Want Your Body)" instantly became one of my favourites, but I soon discovered that she had loads of other masterpieces in her discography.

One of them is the 1987 single "I Surrender (To The Spirit Of The Night)" taken from her second album "Samantha Fox". The track was produced by Jon Astrop and became a hit in Europe. I really love the electronic sound, especially the drums, and Samantha really proves that she is indeed a good vocalist!

Check out the official video down below, which uses an extended intro. You got to love the eighties fashion, shoulder pads and all. "I Surrender (To The Spirit Of The Night)" is available digitally on iTunes and Spotify, but I really recommend the remastered deluxe edition of the "Samantha Fox" album. It's fabulous!

Keep an eye on my new blog label "favourites" to see, hear and read about more of my favourite tracks. You can also subscribe to my favourites playlist on YouTube.

Video: Tokio Hotel - Love Who Loves You Back

German band Tokio Hotel are known for their singles "Monsoon", "Automatic" and the beautiful "Don't Jump". Now, they're back with the brand new single "Love Who Loves You Back", and I'm very glad that the sound is more electronic than usual. I also like the sexy video, which features both straight and gay kissing.

"Love Who Loves You Back" is taken from the upcoming album "Kings Of Suburbia" and is available now on iTunes and Spotify. The album can be pre-ordered from Amazon UK and Amazon US.

Eurotix - Come And Hold Me (Nina & Kim cover)

My synthpop project Eurotix have made a tribute to Swedish schlager duo Nina & Kim by recording a synthpop version of their 2003 single "Om Du Stannar Hos Mig". It's one of my favourite songs by the duo and Larry and his friends wrote the original. I've had the honour of writing new English lyrics for our version and the sound is of course inspired eighties euro disco music!

If you like the song, you can find it on our latest EP "Let's Die Young", out now on iTunes, Spotify, Amazon UK, Amazon US.

Martika - Martika (Re-release)

On October 27, Cherry Pop Records are reissuing one of my favourite albums, Martika's eponymous album from 1988, best known for including the mega hit "Toy Soldiers". It also includes the great follow-up singles "More Than You Know", "I Feel The Earth Move" and "Water".

The album has been expanded with the rare B-side "Exchange Of Hearts", three remixes and two Spanish versions. I was hoping for a few more bonus mixes, but I guess you can't have everything.

This eighties dance-pop masterpiece includes so many great tracks, like the Eighth Wonder cover "Cross My Heart" and my personal favourite "If You're Tarzan, I'm Jane". So don't miss out on this pop gem! Pre-order your copy now from Amazon UK and Amazon US.

"Martika" tracklist:

1. If You're Tarzan, I'm Jane
2. Cross My Heart
3. More Than You Know
4. Toy Soldiers
5. You Got Me Into This

Hunk of the day: Alexander Koch

Today's hunk is the beautiful American actor Alexander Koch, born 1988 in Detroit, Michigan. So far, I've only seen him as Junior Rennie on CBS's "Under The Dome", based on the Stephen King's novel. But I hope to see more of this beauty in the future!

This lovely steel box set arrived the other day. Isn't it cute? The box includes The Saturday's new compilation "Finest Selection: The Greatest Hits", a DVD with all their music videos and a CD with rare B-sides, including my personal favourite "Ladykiller".

Eurotix - Let's Die Young (Mobile Phone Video)

Check out this amateur video that I have made for the Eurotix track "Let's Die Young", starring my dear friend Angelica Olsson. It was shot in my home town Sandviken on an iPhone 5, just for fun, so don't except too much ha ha!

The "Let's Die Young" EP is available on iTunes, Spotify, Amazon UK, Amazon US.

Video: Kingsland Road - Dirty Dancer

So many boybands, so little time. Check out the video for British boyband Kingsland Road's debut single "Dirty Dancer" down below. They got their big break in 2013 through "The X Factor" and will release their debut album in Janurary 2015. The track is really catchy and I love the electronic sound. I also find it charming that we get to hear some British accents in the song.

"Dirty Dancer" is available on iTunes, Spotify, Amazon UK and Amazon US.

My favourites: Kim Wilde - You Came (1988)

Welcome to the new part of my blog where I write about my all-time favourite songs. First out is "You Came" by the amazing Kim Wilde. The song is taken from the 1988 album "Close" and was released as a single the same year. It became a big hit in Europe. Here in Sweden it reached the number one spot on the Tracks chart.

In the summer of 2000, when I first discovered and fell in love with eighties pop music, "You Came" was one of the first tracks that caught my attention. I love Kim's unique voice, the strong melody and the electronic eighties sounds, especially the "handclaps". My favourite part is where Kim sings: "Cos in the space of a year, I've watched the old me disappear."

Check out the official video down below. It was shot during Michael Jackson's 1988 European tour, where Kim was the supporting act. I really love the typical late eighties hairstyle and outfits. In 2006, Kim released a new version of "You Came", but it's a little too rocky for my taste, so I'll stick with the electronic original.

"You Came" is available digitally on iTunes and Spotify. But I really recommend the remastered deluxe edition of the "Close" album. It's truly a masterpiece!

Keep an eye on my new blog label "favourites" to see, hear and read about more of my favourite tracks. You can also subscribe to my favourites playlist on YouTube.

Until Dawn - Teen slasher video game

Check out the trailer for the upcoming video game "Until Dawn". It will be released in 2015 for the Playstation 4. Being a fan of both adventure games and horror movies, I'm very excited about this title. It looks really good. A big plus is that one of the characters is voiced by Hayden Panettiere, known from TV series such as "Heroes" and "Nashville". The game also stars Brett Dalton and Rami Malek.

"Until Dawn" tells the story of eight friends who spend the night in a mountain cabin on the anniversary of the death of one of their friends. They soon realise that they are being stalked by a clown-masked killer. The player's choices will help decide who lives and dies.

If you like teen slasher movies like "Scream" and "Friday The 13th", I'm sure you'll enjoy this game. Stay tuned for more information!

Eurotix - Let's Die Young (EP)

We are happy to announce our brand new Eurotix EP "Let's Die Young"! The title track is dedicated to a mutual friend of ours and tells the story of her and Larry's friendship back in the eighties. She kindly let us use an old photo of her for the EP cover.

The EP also includes three non-album tracks: The brand new "Kill Another Day" (Can you spot the Depeche Mode reference?) and "Come And Hold Me" (A cover of a song by Swedish schlager duo Nina & Kim, with new lyrics written by Dennis), plus our cover of Alphaville's album track "Lies".

"Let's Die Young" is out now on iTunes, Spotify, Amazon UK, Amazon US, plus many other digital music stores. The song is taken from our debut album "The Secret", available digitally and as a limited CD edition. We hope you will like it. Please help us spread the word and thanks for all your support!

Solid Harmonie - Circus

My childhood idols are back! British girl group Solid Harmonie were huge in Europe back in the late nineties with hit singles such as "I'll Be There For You", "I Want You To Want Me", "To Love Once Again" and "I Wanna Love You".

Me and my younger sister used to mime to their songs when we were kids, pretending to be the girls. I still enjoy their debut album very much and it's filled with pop gems, not just the singles.

Their comeback single "Circus" is a cool dance-pop track and you can get it now from iTunes. The girls have already done a few gigs in the Netherlands and I hope they'll record a full album with modern dance music!

Kylie Minogue's PWL albums reissued

As you know, Kylie Minogue is one of my biggest idols, and I love the Stock Aitken Waterman/PWL sound of the eighties and nineties. So you bet I'm excited about Cherry Pop Records' upcoming remastered and expanded reissues of Kylie's first four albums!

The Cherry Pop reissues come in three different versions:

1. The "Special Edition" includes one CD, with a couple of bonus tracks.
2. The "Deluxe Edition" includes two CD's, with tons of bonus tracks, plus a DVD with videos.
3. The "Collector's Edition" box set includes the same CD's as the deluxe edition, plus a vinyl copy of the original album, a poster, postcards and a book.

I'm so glad I didn't get the overpriced 2012 Japanese reissues since they didn't include nearly as many extras. Personally, I'm not into vinyl and fancy packaging so I'm getting the deluxe editions. I only miss the 1992 "Greatest Hits" tracks and some 7" mixes, but I'm sure there is more to come. But I'm thrilled about getting the original albums, B-sides and remixes digitally remastered.

I've listed all the bonus tracks on the deluxe editions down below, plus pre-order links. Note that I haven't listed the original album tracks. Also, the price on Amazon is quite high at the moment, but they usually lower their prices before the October 27 release. Enjoy it!

Lauren Bacall has passed away

One of my favourite actresses, the classic movie star Lauren Bacall, has died. She suffered a fatal stroke yesterday and passed away in her New York home, eighty-nine years old.

Lauren got her big breakthrough in the 1944 movie "To Have And Have Not" and quickly became known for her husky voice and mysterious look. During filming, Lauren and he co-star, movie legend Humphrey Bogart, fell in love. They married the following year and the marriage lasted until Bogart's death in 1957.

Some of Lauren's best known movies include "Key Largo", "The Big Sleep", "Murder On The Orient Express" and "How To Marry A Millionaire". The latter also starred movie icons Marilyn Monroe and Betty Grable.

Rest in peace, Lauren. You are missed.

Sweet Connection - German disco duo fansite

I'm a big fan of the German duo Sweet Connection. They released four euro disco/italo disco singles in the late eighties and early nineties. "Need Your Passion" and "Dirty Job" from 1988 are their best knows hits and you can hear them down below.

I have created a fansite about the duo, including a discography, biography, poll and much more. Check it out at Plastic Retro.

Eurotix - After Before, Before After

Listen to "After Before, Before After" by my synthpop project Eurotix down below. White Lion Radio called it the best synth ballad since "Say Hello, Wave Goodbye". What do you think? One of the inspirations for this song was Alphaville's "Forever Young".

The track is taken from our debut album "The Secret", available digitally on iTunes, Spotify, Amazon UK, Amazon US and as a limited CD edition. Enjoy!
