Steps - Heartbeat

Let's continue the Christmas theme with today's song. "Heartbeat" by British pop group Steps was originally released as a double A-sided single, together with the Bee Gees cover "Tragedy", in late 1998. It became a hit in Europe and is considered a Christmas song, even though the video is more Christas like than the song itself. I have a weak spot for this pop ballad, much thanks to the group members beautiful and unique voices.

Check out the funny video for "Heartbeat" down below. The song is available on the group's debut album "Step One". I also recommend their 2012 Christmas album "Light Up The World".

New CD's in my record collection: "The Disco Years" by Grace Jones, "The Way That You Love Me" by Vanessa Williams, plus remastered reissues of "If The Price Is Right" by Bonnie Pointer and "Flirt" by Evelyn "Champagne" King. More disco-pop to the people!

Man Meadow - Everybody

I have been following Swedish pop duo Man Meadow since the release of their fabulous 2008 single "Love Is Gonna Get You", which competed in the Polish pre-selection for the Eurovision Song Contest. Now, Niklas Vestberg and Fredrik Olofsson are back with the new dance-pop single "Everybody".

Check out the video down below. The track is available on iTunes, Spotify, Amazon UK and Amazon US.

Kylie Minogue & Dannii Minogue - 100 Degrees

I love electronic pop Christmas songs and today's recommendation is the new duet "100 Degrees" by my idols Kylie Minogue and Dannii Minogue. The fabulous Australian sisters recorded this seventies retro disco track for Kylie's new Christmas album "Kylie Christmas", available both digitally and on CD. Check out the video directed by David Lopez-Edwards down below.

Don't forget to check out my previous Christmas posts.

Kylie Minogue - Every Day's Like Christmas (A Stock Aitken Waterman Remix)

Wow! This is like a dream come true. Not only has my idol Kylie Minogue released a lovely new Christmas album, but now one of the tracks, "Every Day's Like Christmas", has been remixed by my favourite music producers, the newly reunited Stock Aitken Waterman! The fabulous retro mix sounds like it could have been released in 1988. Needless to say, I love it.

So far, only the main remix is available digitally, but I'm hoping for a physical release too, including a couple of extended remixes. "Every Day's Like Christmas (A Stock Aitken Waterman Remix)" is out now on iTunes, Spotify and Amazon.

"So hurry down the chimney tonight"

New in my record collection: "Kylie Christmas (Deluxe Edition)" by Kylie Minogue, "Hysteria" by Katharine McPhee, "Off The Record - The Remix Album" by Trance Dance, "Johan Kinde" by Johan Kinde and finally "Two Of Heart" by Annie.

More Eurotix related news

Me and Larry Forsberg have been busy signing and mailing copies of our new CD to different parts of the world lately. We are so glad that you seem to like it! If you haven't ordered your copy yet, you can do so by filling out the form on our official website. We currently have a special offer: If you buy both of our albums, you will get the first one for half the cost.

In other news, we found out that two songs co-written by Larry have been accepted to Melodifestivalen 2016, the Swedish pre-selection to the Eurovision Song Contest. The songs will be performed by Swedish artists Anna Book and After Dark. I actually sang on the demo for the After Dark track when it got accepted. That version had English lyrics though.

Congratulations, Larry!

Carly Rae Jepsen - Last Christmas

Normally, I'm quite fed up with new cover versions of old Christmas classics. Especially when they sound too similar to the original. However, I'm really enjoying Carly Rae Jepsen's take on the WHAM! classic "Last Christmas". At least it has a different feel to it, unlike other covers of the track.

"Last Christmas" is out now on iTunes, Spotify, Amazon UK and Amazon US.

Another idol of mine, the fabulous Kim Wilde, has recorded a track for the "80's Re:Covered" compilation album. "Love Will Keep Us Together" is a cover of the 1975 Captain & Tennille track. Lovely Laura Leighton

Oh, how I love Laura Leighton! Nineties soap "Melrose Place" made me a huge fan of hers. The devious yet lovable Sydney Andrews was irresistible and quickly became one of my favourite characters. I can watch that series over and over without getting bored.

Since 2010, Laura plays the stylish Ashley Marin on teen soap "Pretty Little Liars", another one of my favourite series. I just started rewatching it on DVD and seeing Laura Leighton is a joy.

Don't forget to follow Laura on Twitter!

Me and Marilyn Monroe

Ever since I was a little boy, I have looked up to Marilyn Monroe. Not just because on her talent and icon status, but because I saw myself in her. I'm not talking about her looks, obviously, since I'm not even half as beautiful as she was. I'm talking about relating to her on a personal level.

Most people think of Marilyn Monroe as just a glamorous sex symbol, the "dumb blonde" who had an affair with the president. Personally, I'm much more interested in the woman behind the glamour and beauty. The sensitive and sometimes fragile woman who fought to be taken seriously and who went through so much pain in her life. The woman who tried her best to survive in a world where sensitivity is seen as a weakness.

I don't know who the real Marilyn was. No one does, at least not completely. But I have my own interpretation of who she was, and that's the Marilyn I relate to. I know it sounds silly, but sometimes it feels like I have a special connection with Marilyn, like I know her. I guess all fans feel that way, but still...

Reading about Marilyn, watching her movies, listening to her music and reading her poems really helps me cope when I'm feeling blue. It makes me feel less alone, like someone out there really understands me, even if it's just an illusion.

In loving memory of Marilyn Monroe (1926-1962)

Marilyn Monroe... and me.

In 2013, Cherry Pop Records released a remastered and expanded version of La Toya Jackson's fabulous 1988 album "You're Gonna Get Rocked!", including the previously unreleased track "Trouble", later recorded by Nia Peeples for her debut album.

Jackie Collins has died

Today is a very sad day. Legendary author Jackie Collins has passed away at seventy-seven, losing her battle with breast cancer. Jackie was best known for writing steamy novels about the rich and famous. Some of her most rememberable books are "Hollywood Wives", "Lucky" and "Chances". The latter introduced the popular character of Lucky Santangelo who appeared in ten of the author's books.

What I admired most about Jackie was her ability to write about Hollywood's darker side, and of course her strong female characters. Jackie was very outspoken and brave. Her books encouraged women to "kick ass" and be just as powerful as men can be.

Rest in peace, Jackie. You will be missed.

A photo that Jackie signed for me.

I know it's not considered "cool" to listen to Justin Bieber, but I have never cared before about what people think, so why start now? All I care about is the music and Justin has made some quite catchy dance-pop tracks over the years. Now, he's back with the brand new single "What Do You Mean?" and you can check out the video down below.

I really like the fact that Justin keeps doing electronic pop music, instead of going all "deep" and "serious" on us. "What Do You Mean?" is out now on iTunes, Spotify, Amazon UK and Amazon US. Enjoy!

I first discovered Soraya Arnelas when she represented Spain in the Eurovision Song Contest 2009 with "La Noche Es Para Mí". Now, the amazing singer is back with the single "You Didn't Do It", inspired by seventies disco music. I really love the track and I hope we'll get a new Soraya album very soon!

Check out the video down below. "You Didn't Do It" is out now on iTunes, Spotify, Amazon UK and Amazon US. I also recommend the 2013 masterpiece "Plastic".

Jussie Smollett - Good Enough (Empire)

Rest in peace, Christopher Lee

I just heard the sad news about Christopher Lee's death. The British actor was ninety-three years old and known to many for his roles in the "Lord Of The Rings" movies.

To me, Christopher will always be remembered as Dracula in the Hammer Films horror classics, and as Bond villain Scaramanga in "The Man With The Golden Gun". Last but not least, I loved his cameo in "Gremlins 2: The New Batch".

The world has lost yet another talented star. Rest in peace, Christopher.
