Josefin Nilsson is dead

I'm sorry to hear that Swedish pop singer Josefin Nilsson has passed away, only forty-six years old. She is perhaps best known as the lead singer of pop group Ainbusk who found success with singles such as "Lassie" and "Älska Mej". Josefin also competed in Melodifestivalen 2005 – the Swedish pre-selection to the Eurovision Song Contest – with the beautiful ballad "Med Hjärtats Egna Ord".

I still love Josefin's solo album "Shapes" from 1993, written by former ABBA members Björn Ulvaeus and Benny Andersson. Maybe this is what ABBA would've sounded like if they had still been recording music in the nineties? If you enjoy Josefin's voice, you must get this album. It's a pop masterpiece.

My personal favourites by Josefin are "Heaven And Hell", "We Won't Be Going Anywhere", "Where The Whales Have Ceased To Sing" and "High Hopes And Heartaches (Radio Remix)". A magical voice has gone silent and will be missed by fans worldwide.

Rest in peace, Josefin.

Hunk of the day: Joseph Morgan

Hunk of the day is the British actor Joseph Morgan. He was born 1981 in London but grew up in Wales. I first saw him as bad boy vampire Klaus Mikaelson on the American TV series "The Originals" and "The Vampire Diaries". The character is so charming!

Joseph also starred in movies such as "Immortals", "Alexander" and "Mansfield Park". He also played a small part in the gay themed miniseries "The Line Of Beauty" from 2006. Check out the photo down below. Who can resist that smile?

Alexandra Stan - I Did It, Mama!

Romanian artist Alexandra Stan is perhaps best known for her 2011 hit single "Mr. Saxobeat". I recently discovered her latest single "I Did It, Mama!" and now I can't get enough of it. It's an electronic dance-pop track, perfect for dancing. I also recommend the cool nineties inspired remix "I Did It, Mama! (Armageddon Turk 90's It Grrrl Mix)".

Brothers - A Tale Of Two Sons

I recently finished playing "Brothers - A Tale Of Two Sons", a beautiful adventure game developed by Starbreeze Studios and directed by Swedish movie director Josef Fares. The game was originally released back in 2013, but in 2015, a new version was released for the Playstation 4 and Xbox One, featuring enhanced graphics and bonus content. I've been playing the PS4 version and I really enjoyed it.

The game follows two brothers on a quest to find a cure for their dying father. You control both brothers at the same time, solving puzzels and travelling through the beautiful and sometimes frightening world, inspired by Nordic folklore. The story is very touching and stays with you long after you've finished playing the game.

Marilyn Monroe in new Snickers ad

Do you remember the Snickers ad starring "Dynasty" divas Joan Collins and Stephanie Beacham? Now, another famous diva is starring in a new ad. She happens to be my biggest idol Marilyn Monroe. The ad almost gave me goose bumps. It's so cool that they can use CGI to bring dead legends back to life.

Cathy Dennis - Move To This (Re-release)

This week, I've been listening a lot to the reissue of Cathy Dennis' amazing pop album "Move To This" from 1990-1991. The reissue includes the original album and loads of bonus tracks and remixes, digitally remastered on two CD's.

The hit singles "Touch Me (All Night Long)", "Just Another Dream", "Too Many Walls" and "C'mon And Get My Love" are included. The album is a must for fans of Kylie and Dannii Minogue, Shep Pettibone and nineties dance-pop in general.

The reissue of "Move To This" was released in September 2014 by Universal and can be ordered from Amazon UK and Amazon US.

Take That - Hey Boy

As a kid, I was more into girl groups than boy bands, so with the exception of the 1995 hit single "Back For Good", I hadn't listened to Take That a lot. But recently, I started rediscovering the band, especially their early dance-pop tracks, so a good friend recommended their 2015 single "Hey Boy". I instantly fell in love with the catchy tune. I also enjoy the video, which you can see down below, and the guys are still smoking hot.

10 Cloverfield Lane (Cloverfield 2) (Trailer)

Do you remember the 2008 horror-disaster movie "Cloverfield"? It's one of my personal favourites and I often rewatch it on Blu-ray. Check out the brand new trailer for the sequel – or rather the spinoff – "10 Cloverfield Lane" down below. It looks very promising.

The film is set to premiere in March and it stars John Goodman, Mary Elizabeth Winstead and John Gallagher Jr. It would been nice to see some of the characters from the first movie return, but that might be hard to explain considering their fates. J.J. Abrams is back as producer though, so I have high expectations.

Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection

I recently bought myself a belated Christmas gift: "Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection" for the Playstation 4. I love the original games so it was great to revisit them all in full HD quality.

The collection includes newly remastered versions of "Uncharted: Drake's Fortune" (2007), "Uncharted 2: Among Thieves" (2009) and "Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception" (2011). They are a must for any fan of action-adventures in the style of "Indiana Jones" and "Tomb Raider".

The fourth and final instalment of the series, "Uncharted 4: A Thief's End", is released later this year. While waiting for it, check out "Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection", available on Amazon UK and Amazon US.

David Bowie, rest in peace

The whole world is mourning the loss of music icon David Bowie, who sadly passed away yesterday, after a long battle with cancer. Last Friday, the star had turned sixty-nine years old and released his final studio album "Blackstar", which included the single "Lazarus".

For me personally, Bowie will always be Jareth, the character he played in the 1986 Jim Henson movie "Labyrinth". Me and my sister grew up watching it, and I still listen to the synthpop soundtrack a lot. Check out the video for "Underground", one of my favourite tracks from the movie, down below.
