Loving the new remastered and expanded twenty-fifth anniversary edition of "Spiceworld" (1997) by my childhood idols Spice Girls. It includes rarities such as B-sides, remixes and demos. The discs come in a lovely casebook. Girl power!

Mylène Farmer - Collection 1986-1996

The lovely CD box set "Collection" (2022) by Mylène Farmer arrived yesterday. It contains sixteen discs packed with lovely French pop songs in improved sound quality. It also includes lots of remixes and rare tracks. I love it!

Angela Lansbury is dead

I'm devastated to hear that iconic Irish-British actress Angela Lansbury has died, ninety-six years old. Such sad news.

She meant so much to me personally, since I grew up watching her charming mystery drama "Murder, She Wrote" (1984-1986) together with my darling grandma Sylvia. We still love the show and try to watch it together as soon as it's on.

Angela had such a long and broad career, loved by so many. Some movie roles of hers that I especially love are Nancy in the Ingrid Bergman masterpiece "Gaslight" (1944) and Salome in Agatha Christie's "Death On The Nile" (1978). But there are so many great roles.

I'm too sad to write any longer. Another legend is gone. Rest in peace, sweet Angela.

Stacey Q - Better Than Heaven (Reissue)

One of my favourite albums ever, "Better Than Heaven" (1986) by the fabulous Stacey Q, has finally been remastered and expanded by Cherry Pop Records. Two discs packed with bonus remixes of singles such as "Two Of Hearts", "We Connect" and "Insecurity". I love it.

Shirley Murdock - As We Lay - The Elektra Recordings (1985-1991)

Lovely new collection "As We Lay - The Elektra Recordings" by Shirley Murdock, including her first three studio albums, "Shirley Murdock!" (1985), "A Woman's Point Of View" (1988) and "Let There Be Love!" (1991) remastered and expanded.

I also recommend the brilliant 2019 deluxe edition of her debut album which includes even more bonus remixes.

Sheena Easton - Live At The Palace, Hollywood (Reissue)

New in my collection: "Live At The Palace, Hollywood" (1982) by Sheena Easton has been remastered and reissued on CD and DVD by Cherry Pop Records. I wish I could have seen the concert live but I wasn't born back then. But now I can finally enjoy it!

Olivia Newton-John has passed away

Last night, I heard the awful news: Australian singing icon Olivia Newton-John has passed away after a long struggle with breast Cancer. She was seventy-three years old.

I am gutted and find it really hard to take in. Olivia is one of my all-time favourite singers and her music means so much to me. She had one of the most beautiful voices in the world. I am especially fond of Olivia's eighties albums "Physical", "Soul Kiss", "The Rumour" and "Two Of A Kind". But all her music is great, that voice can make any song a masterpiece.

Most people know Olivia from the movies "Grease" (1978) and "Xanadu" (1980), but she has done so much more. I want to end the blog post with my favourite Olivia song, "Twist Of Fate", from the soundtrack to her movie "Two Of A Kind" (1983). It's amazing. I hope more people discover her music.

Rest in peace, Olivia. You voice will live forever.

I recently got my signed copy of the new Bananarama album "Masquerade", and I love it! It's so nice that my idols are back with yet another fabulous album filled with electronic dance-pop music. Check it out! I hope they will release the amazing track "Running With The Night" as the next single.
