Look what arrived the other day, the beautiful box set "Luxury - The Definitive Anthology 1984-1991" by British pop group Five Star. I'm a huge fan of their music so I'm very happy to get their albums "Luxury Of Life" (1985), "Silk & Steel" (1986), "Between The Lines" (1987), "Rock The World" (1988), "Five Star" (1990) and "Shine" (1991) remastered to perfection, plus loads of rare 7" and 12" mixes and finally the DVD with music videos.
I bought the Amazon exclusive edition which comes with a signed photo by fabulous lead singer Denise Pearson. There are still copies available if you're interested. You can also order the standard edition from Amazon UK. This set is a most for fans of R&B-pop of the eighties and early nineties.
Those of you who have followed my blog for a while know that I am a big fan of British pop group Steps and I really love their 2017 comeback album "Tears On The Dancefloor". Now, they are releasing a limited CD singles box set including the amazing "Scared Of The Dark", "Story Of A Heart", "Neon Blue" and "Dancing With A Broken Heart".
All the released remixes are included, plus previously unreleased ones. This is perfect for those who prefer physical singles over digital ones. I just pre-ordered my copy from the official store. You can do the same. But don't wait too long!

Great news eighties lovers. Stéphanie Grimaldi, princess of Monaco, released her debut album "Besoin" in 1986 and now, it has been digitally remastered and expanded on two CD's in a brilliant reissue. The amazing euro disco hits "Ouragan/Irresistible" and "Flash/One Love To Give" are included, plus bonus remixes and versions not included on previous CD releases.
But hurry up and order directly from Club 80, Discogs or Ebay, because the release is limited to just three hundred copies. The release has been remastered by Arnaud Ralite and he always delivers great sound quality, so I recommend this release to all fans.

Mine and Larry Forsberg's synthpop project Eurotix released the brand new digital EP "My Eyes" today. The title track is an electronic throwback to the eighties with sad lyrics and a retro sound.
The EP also includes brand new remixes of the album track "The Secret" and our cover of "Broken Hearts" by Secret Service. Finally, as a bonus track, we've added our cover of the Swedish synthpop classic "Bang Bang (Heart On Fire)" by Shanghai. Listen to the whole EP down under.
Song of the day is "Got Me Good" by the new Swedish boyband Quest consisting of Oscar Landgren, Marvin Arnet, Isak Sköld and Alexander Malinao. What makes this band so unique is that they're queer-friendly, with two openly gay members and gender neutral lyrics that everyone can relate to. We sure need more of that.

There is only one Kylie and that's pop goddess Kylie Minogue. It's not every day one of your biggest idols turns fifty, which has to be celebrated by a little blog post. Kylie herself celebrated the day by releasing a video for the title track of her latest album "Golden". Check it out down below. A big happy birthday to Kylie!
I was so sad to hear that Canadian-born actress Margot Kidder has passed away, sixty-nine years old. I was a big fan of her work. I first started following her career as a kid, watching the "Superman" movies. Lois Lane was my favourite character and made me interested in journalism.
As a teen, I started watching horror movies and fell madly in love with the classics "Black Christmas" (1974) and "The Amityville Horror" (1976) which both starred Margot. Her character in the former, the loud-mouthed Barb, is still one of my favourite movie characters of all time.
It was also great to see her in a small but memorable role on the amazing TV series "Brothers & Sisters", playing a dear friend of Sally Field's character Nora. As an adult, I also learned that Margot voiced the character of Gaia in the animated series "Captain Planet And The Planeteers" which I had loved as a kid.
To me, Margot always came off as being strong and independent, never afraid to speak up against injustices. I was glad to read that she was a supporter of LGBT rights and an anti-war advocate. Rest in peace, Margot. You will be greatly missed.
I would like to end with a funny 2008 quote by Margot, taken from the LGBT publication The Advocate.
"I'm not choosy at all! I'll do practically anything. I'm the biggest whore on the block. I live in a little town in Montana, and you have to drag me out of here to get to L.A., so I'm not readily available. But unless it's something sexist or cruel, I just love to work. I've done all sorts of things, but you just haven't seen them because they're often very bad and shown at 4 in the morning."
