I am Alexis

Dear, soap fans, it's official! I have legally changed my name. Per Dennis Svedberg Hellström doesn't exist anymore. Say hello to Dennis Alexis Hellström. I hope you like the new name as much as I do! As you might have figured out, I've taken the name Alexis from my idol Joan Collins' "Dynasty" character Alexis Carrington Colby.

I know, I'm obsessed with that show! If you want to you can now call me Alexis or Dennis Alexis. But Dennis is fine too. I removed Per because I never felt comfortable with that name, and I removed Svedberg out of personal reasons. I feel great about this!

Jane Andrews Mancini's back!

I just found this video clip from the new "Melrose Place" episode. Josie Bissett is back as Jane Andrews Maninci, and she's blackmailing Ella into helping her make a comeback in the fashion industry. Doesn't she look good? I'm so glad Jane's back. I hope she'll get into a catfight with Heather Locklear's Amanda when she returns. This is from episode four, airing next week on The CW. Don't miss it!

All soaps about models are cancelled

Why is it that all good soap operas about models are cancelled? I think the only exception is "Ugly Betty", even thought it's more of a comedy-drama.

The CW is now cancelling the Ashton Kutcher produced drama "The Beautiful Life", starring Mischa Barton, after only two episodes. It's such a shame, because I thought it was really good!

Other great soap operas about models are 80's classic "Paper Dolls", starring Morgan Fairchild, and 90's classic "Models Inc." starring Linda Gray. They were both cancelled after only one season, even though they were really well-made. It's such a waste.

Shouldn't the fashion industry be the perfect place for a soap opera? Why do people prefer reality shows like "America's Next Top Model" over prime time soap operas about models?

Heather Locklear is moving back to Melrose Place!

The news we've all been waiting for is finally here! Heather Locklear will, according to the New York Post, join the new "Melrose Place" spinoff. This is amazing!

Her character Amanda Woodward has always been my favourite so I hope she will be a regular. But considering Locklear's salary I guess she'll only return for a couple of episodes.

So far, these actors are returning from the original: Laura Leighton, Thomas Calabro, Heather Locklear, Josie Bissett and Daphne Zuniga. Rumour has it that Grant Show and Courtney Thorne-Smith are in negotiation too.

Who is your favourite "Melrose Place" character?

Melrose Place pilot

So, what did you all think of the new "Melrose Place" pilot? Please let me know! I personally loved it.

As a HUGE fan of the original, I was a bit sad to see a certain character get killed off, but I'll get over it. And who knows, maybe this person will return from the dead at the end of this season? This is "Melrose Place", for God's sake, anything can happen!

Some fans of the original are complaining about the new show, but I don't agree with them. This isn't the same show, so they can't keep everything the same as it was in the original. Times have changed so we have to accept change if we want the show to survive today. This isn't the 90's.

But I for one think that they've keep a lot of the original atmosphere. And I definitely don't think that Ashlee Simpson is as bad as everyone said she would be.

New Joan Collins interview

The fabulous "Dynasty" glamour diva Joan Collins was recently a guest on British talk show "Loose Women". They discussed everything from her love life to her phobia of kissing people she doesn't know (Lily Allen) on the cheek.

The best part of the show was when Joan said that she really misses the 1980's. I mean, who doesn't? She also said that she still loves 80's fashion, especially shoulder pads. I couldn't agree more!

If only we could see Joan back in shoulder pads, fighting Linda Evan.
